China in 2006 was 96th CO2 emitter per capita, far behind western countries, and a lot of those emissions were for products that are are bought by western resellers for western consumers. Care about pollution in China? care about jobs lost to an efficient country? stop buying Apple products for a start !From a buyer perspective, for Chinese researched, Chinese produced technologies, i have a better service from them than from my own western European country, from the manufacturing to the mail service. They are extremely serious, punctual and polite. They have many reasons to be proud as a people and probably never ever will pollute as much per capita as western country do, and will be on the forefront of new energies without a doubt.They are bound to rule the technological, economical financial and cultural world in the next decades as they Chinese factories are capable of the best service and quality, insofar as it is not asked specifically by western consumers and resellers for price issues, like it is often the case.Our bitter jealousy, like from parts of Europe toward America when it took the lead, will make us have a lot of cheap fun at their expense. Will make us wonder if we must "laugh or cry". But the joke is on us.
