It's pretty simple. The chances of dying from the flu or from the vaccine are extremely low. However, they're lower with the vaccine than from dying from the flu (swine or other). Combine the death risk with other complications (as well as other issue risks from the vaccine), and you're still better off with the vaccine.Even if it's just a matter of being really sick for a couple of weeks versus getting a quick shot during your lunch break, the vaccine comes out ahead....and the chance of just getting the flu and feeling significantly sick isn't that low..
You never said anything about producing from scratch.!

"based on design over functionality" You obviously have no clue about the design culture @ Apple. They believe Design is functionality you can't have good design without it. They don't get kudos cause their stuff looks better they get kudos because it works better.?
What a contrast today. At one end of Pennsylvania Ave a bunch of wingnuts protested against debunked, delusional nonsense while on the other the White House accepted endorsements from the AARP and American Medical Association. |

Several Google employees (who have been present at the ACTA talks) signed an NDA legally preventing them from speaking about the talks (see http://keionline.org/node/660 for details). I suspect that this may have implications for the company as a whole.I wouldn't expect anything good to come from Comcast & AT&T, nor from the rights-peddlers. Companies are bound by law to represent shareholder interests above all else. In the current mindset, that means short-term profit must trump long-term good, unless you can come up with some damn good reasons to convince your board that the two are functionally equivalent.We need corporate reform on a global level, to make long-term good something that corporations can actually work towards rather than against, and we need political reform that stifles both corporate influence on politics and overbroad government powers, so governments have no incentive to get involved in these kinds of shenanigans in the first place. |
